BlogSense – April Newsletter – Rapid Indexing Techniques & Tools

Hello License Holder,

You know our IndexSpy? (a tool developed for the BlogSenseWP platform that reads your blog’s xml sitemap and reports which pages are indexed with Google and which pages arent…) We’ll in this newsletter we are going to talk about how to use it for Blog Promotion.

For those of you that are no longer BlogSense license holders, recently IndexSpy has been championed into a stand alone plugin so you guys can grab it for free here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/indexspy/ (This will also be good for all of use who need a plugin like IndexSpy but have no need for BlogSense at the time)

Rapid Indexing

There are a handful of ways you can try and get your list of unindexed pages indexed on the fly. And I’ll be sure to mention tools I know of that that help you.

I. Use IndexSpy to build an unique rss feed full of excerpts of the unindexed pages, then submit the rss feed to all the rss directories using a rss submission tool.

II. (Pinging) Attempting to find the pages directly from Google and other search engines, hoping that they will list what was sought but not found.

III. (Pinging) Letting search engines know(through the appropriate channels) that the page is available.

IV. (Pinging) Running queries on information oriented websites like aboutus.org, that will build a cache of the reported data, which could be indexed by google on the external site, and thereby creating backlinks to your site increasing the chances of indexing.

Marketing Tools created for Rapid Indexing

Web Traffic Genius – Stand Alone Edition (Technique I only)

These guys(Tim & Anthony Buchalka) and  developed this relatively simple software that helps you create accounts for the the top RSS submission websites, and provides you a form where you paste the rss feed, and submit, and it cycles through your accounts posting the rss feed to all the locations.

They provide two version of the software, which after purchasing you have access to both. One is a wordpress plugin, that you can install on all your blogs, and the other is a stand alone version, that installs in a directory on your host’s server.

I reccomend using the stand alone version, so you can just jump over to your central location whenever you want to submit a new rss feed. Also here is a warning, these guys are rampent spammers. I get a promotional email from them about two times a week.

IM Rapid Tools (Techniques II-IV)

This software is new on the market and the developer is spending quite a good bit of time and energy to make it as relevant to these practices as possible. I managed to get in during development when it was free, but he(Chris) is now selling his software for about 16.00 I believe. It’s a nice little tool who’s focus strickly is on Indexing and Pinging.  It’s still in development but I reccomend giving it  look. Small programs like these usually turn into be powerhouses 4–5 months after initial release.

This software covers steps II-IV. It comes with it’s own list of web 2.0 type sites that you can ping your pages at. It needs some work, but I talked to the developer and he’s already ontop of things

ScrapeBox (Techniques II-IV)

I wish this one had an affiliate program because this has been my favorite software this year. It runs about 60.00 dollars and recently they added a new section to the program called “addons” , where one of the addons is a rapid indexing tool. With both Scrapebox and IM Rapid tools you have to load a list of websites that you want to ping your unindexed pages at. These websites in your list have to be coded something like this:

http://www.zzsky.cn/tool/alexa/index.asp?url={website}
http://www.123chacha.cn/alexa/?url={website}
http://bbs.soufun.com/{website}

Where {website} will be replaced by the software before it fires the ping. This allows for incredible customizations when it comes to list building. Right now Scrapebox has 1 up on IM Rapid tools because you can load a list of unindexed pages for Scrapebox to cycle through. Where as with IM Rapid Tools you are limited to attempting to index one page at a time, and you have to paste the page into the program. I talked to Chris the developer and he says this is being changed in the next version. After he changes them, it will make little difference weather you use ScrapeBox or IM Rapid tools. A reason to use IM Rapid Tools over Scrapebox is that you would like to save the money (because the cost difference of IM Rapid Tools over Scrapebox is about 40.00)

For both of these tools I’ve discovered a list of pre-built services to use for index pinging. You can download the list here:

Between IndexSpy, RSS Submissions, IM Rapid Tools, & Scrapebox, you should have everything you need to start cleaning up your unindexed material. Looking forward to commentary ~
